LHPW COVID Policy

COVID-19
VACCINATION

POLICY-2023

The Leather History Preservation Foundation (LHPF) intends to continue to provide a safe environment for those attending our in-person events and will review and update our protocols when necessary and reserve the right to make changes as appropriate. After reviewing local, state, and federal information and guidelines, LHPW has updated our COVID-19 vaccine requirements for LHPW 2023.

All registrants, guests, and staff for the Leather History Preservation Weekend held November 3 - 5, in Atlanta GA, should follow these guidelines:

• Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.

• Currently, masks are not required but attendees who feel that wearing a mask would benefit their risk levels should wear them at their discretion.

• Attendees should follow sanitary guidelines like washing and/or sanitizing their hands frequently.

• Attendees should cancel and stay home if feeling ill.

• We will have hand sanitizer and masks available for attendees during the event.

• We will comply with all state and local health or mask mandates in place at the time of the event.

The LHPF board of directors defines fully vaccinated as you having received: 1) both doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine; 2) had the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine; and 3) Astra-Zeneca, and other non-North American vaccination qualify (two injections are considered completion).  Boosters are highly recommended.  With new vaccines being developed currently, the acceptable vaccines may be expanded.

Acceptable Verification Methods per CDC:

  1. CDC issued vaccination card
  2. Vaccination certificate with QR code*,
digital pass via Smartphone application with QR code* (e.g., United Kingdom National Health Service COVID Pass, European Union Digital COVID Certificate)
  3. COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued at national or subnational level or by an authorized vaccine provider.

* - The QR code in a verifiable vaccination record links to information confirming the credential was generated from an immunization record in an official database and is protected from tampering.

LHPW plans to:

  • complete an enhanced cleaning regimen in all rooms including common areas with door handles, pens, handrails, elevator buttons, tabletops, and the like will also receive enhanced cleaning.

  • supply hand sanitizer and bleach cloths in programming rooms.

  • ask presenters, hosts, and vendors to help us wipe down easels, markers, and other hard surfaces between classes. If you touch it, clean it.

  • Update policies as required to ensure we are following local and federal
    government and public health agencies.

Mask wearing:

Please wear a mask when picking up your registration package or buying a registration package. We are asking due to the proximity and the handling of personal materials that you happily and courteously comply.

Attendees are encouraged to wear personal protective equipment to keep themselves as well as others safe.  We will happily comply with the CDC’s recommendations for indoor mask usage.

Closer to the event, we will again visit this topic based on current information. We care about the safety of our attendees and want to ensure we proceed with the utmost care.

Social Distancing:
Attendees are encouraged to social distance using the standards of 6ft/2m between attendees and staff when possible.
